What are CBD and THC ratios good for?

Multiple human and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids like CBD and THC could be therapeutic for many conditions, including chronic pain, cancer, anxiety, epilepsy, arthritis, glaucoma, digestive issues and inflammation to name a few. Many of these same scientific studies have shown that CBD and THC work best in combination or synergistically to potentiate each other, a phenomenon known as the entourage effect.

How quickly does cannabis oil work?

For optimal results and quickest onset, deliver the dose using the oral applicator oromucosally or into the mouth cavity. Sublingual delivery or placing the dose under the tongue and waiting a few seconds is an effective delivery method and onset can be felt as quickly as 10-15 minutes. When the dose is absorbed oromucosally, instead of being swallowed, the cannabinoids can avoid first pass through the digestive system and are instead absorbed directly into the bloodstream. The dose is fast-acting because it is easily absorbed by the oral cavity (tongue, gums, cheek). The easiest way to administer is sublingually or under the tongue.

If the dose is administered orally, in other words, swallowed as opposed to absorbed, when added to a liquid or taken with food, for example, there will be a delay of onset of approximately 45 minutes to over an hour. In addition, more cannabinoids may be required to reach the minimally effective dose as many are broken down in the process of digestion, such that fewer are absorbed into the bloodstream than if the digestive system is avoided through oromucosal application.

Each dose can be administered once a day or 1/2 the dose in the morning and 1/2 in the evening, according to your preference. We recommend starting with once a day at the lowest recommended dose and titrating up in small increments every couple of days until you reach the recommended dose or the minimally effective dose, whichever comes first.

Why do you use MCT oil?

My Best Bud products are made with California grown whole flower combined with MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil made from 100% Organic, non-GMO coconuts. MCT oil has nutritional benefits, is easy to digest and is rapidly absorbed by the body. Blending the MCT with our extract produces an even tincture because of the compatible molecule size, so the first dose has the same cannabinoid content as the last.

The Organic MCT oil is concentrated with the medium-chain triglycerides, capric acid and caprylic acid. Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are easily digested, provide energy, support the metabolism and are burned by the body for energy and fuel.

What is Titration and why is it so important?

Titration is the process of determining that dose of medication which reduces your symptoms to the greatest possible degree while avoiding as many side effects as possible.

During the first seven days of use, it is important to slowly introduce the product and to carefully watch for any adverse reaction. It is best to increase the dose every couple of days during the first week until reaching the recommended dosage or the desired relief, whichever comes first.

What separates My Best Bud from other CBD oils?

At My Best Bud we use whole-flower, full spectrum cannabis, whereas all other CBD found online or anywhere other than a dispensary is made from hemp. By using whole flower cannabis, we are able to take advantage of the “entourage effect”. This is where CBD, THC, terpenes, and other compounds in cannabis all work together to increase the healing power of cannabis.

The entourage effect does not exist when using CBD oil derived from hemp. Whole flower cannabis oil is usually a more effective healing compound than hemp-based CBD oil due to this entourage effect.

Thanks to existing and ongoing research, we believe the optimal therapeutic efficacy of cannabis medicine requires the use of both CBD and THC in the right ratio, dose and quality.
